Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on carbon arc gouging with FCAW electrodes 1/16" and 3/32".
• Pass a 1" weld test in positions 1G-4G with FCAW within 90 days.
• Read welding blueprints accurately and weld to tight tolerances.
• Strong shop safety knowledge and discipline.
• Solid math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Problem solving with mechanical aptitude for welding equipment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate expertise in Carbon Arc Gouging and Oxy/Fuel Torch operations for precise metal cutting and prep.
• Interpret weld symbols and read technical prints with proficiency.
• Operate rigging equipment and overhead cranes safely and efficiently with certification compliance.
• Fit and layout components prior to welding.
• Use a broad range of welding electrodes and adapt to materials and specs.
• Perform carbon arc gouging with precision for high-quality repairs and fabrication.
• Achieve weld certifications in line with Komatsu Quality standards.
• Apply advanced trade mathematics for measurements and fabrication.
• Interpret drawings, specs, charts, and formulas to ensure project accuracy.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Analyze, update, and maintain detailed reports and records.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude in reading machinist instruments for QC.
• Participate in ongoing welding training to stay current with tech and safety.
