Avis Budget Group is hiring an Automotive Technician in Houston, TX. You will perform repairs on a fleet of newer cargo vans and box trucks, diagnosing a wide range of systems from engines to onboard computers, and may drive trucks for testing.

The role emphasizes safety, uptime, and customer reliability, with comprehensive benefits. Required are 3+ years of professional automotive repair, ASE certifications (3+), a valid Class A/B/C license, and ability to obtain DOT medical clearance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of professional automotive or truck repair experience.
• Current ASE certifications (minimum of 3), with ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
• Valid Driver's License (Class A, B, or C).
• Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to obtain DOT medical clearance.
• This position requires regular on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs, including warranty work, on a fleet of newer cargo vans and box trucks with minimal technical supervision.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, exhaust systems, brakes, electrical systems, air conditioning, and onboard computer systems.
• Act as a technical expert and mentor to other technicians, supporting diagnostics, repair strategies, and best practices.
• May drive Budget Trucks on public roads for testing, repair verification, or transport needs.
• Contribute to reducing downtime, supporting fleet availability, and ensuring a reliable customer experience.
