Job summary

Avis Budget Group is seeking an experienced automotive/truck technician in Charlotte, NC to perform repairs on a fleet of newer cargo vans and box trucks. You will diagnose engines, transmissions, Brakes and electrical systems, and mentor junior techs while performing warranty work when needed.

The role requires a valid license, 3+ years of repair experience, ASE certifications, and physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. On-site work is essential, with potential OEM experience as a plus.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License (Class A, B, or C).
• Minimum of 3 years of professional automotive or truck repair experience.
• Current ASE certifications (minimum of 3).
• Must be able to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• On-site presence required; this position cannot be performed remotely.
• Must obtain DOT medical clearance.
• OEM experience preferred and considered a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on a fleet of newer cargo vans and box trucks.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, exhaust, brakes, electrical systems, A/C and onboard computers.
• Mentor other technicians and support diagnostics and repair strategies.
• Drive Budget Trucks on public roads for testing, repair verification, or transport needs.
• Keep vehicles operating safely to reduce downtime and maintain fleet availability.
