Job summary

Avis Budget Group, Houston, is hiring an experienced automotive technician to service Budget Truck operations on-site. You will diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, HVAC, and onboard computers in a fleet of newer cargo vans and box trucks.

This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and uptime; ASE certifications are required, with opportunities to mentor teammates and perform tests including on-road verifications when needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of professional automotive or truck repair experience.
• Current ASE certifications (minimum of 3), with ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
• Valid Driver’s License (Class A, B, or C).

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on a fleet of newer cargo vans and box trucks with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, exhaust, brakes, electrical systems, HVAC, and onboard computer systems.
• May act as a technical expert and mentor to other technicians; may drive Budget Trucks on public roads for testing/transport needs.
