Job summary

encompas is seeking a Market Director to lead the Project Lead Team in Omaha, NE, aligning with ownership on strategic direction and training initiatives. The role includes overseeing onboarding, interview participation, and process improvements across projects and vendors.

The candidate should bring 5+ years in contract furniture, strong negotiation and presentation skills, and a proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams. Hybrid work arrangements are possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or related field.
• At least 5 years of Contract Furniture Industry Experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam, CET Designer/Spec, and Canva preferred.
• Strategic thinker with ability to identify and evaluate opportunities aligned with business goals.
• Skilled in executive decision-making, task delegation, and leveraging team strengths.
• Experienced in leading project management and marketing teams to deliver winning proposals.
• Self-starter adept at managing multiple projects, budgets, and schedules with precision.
• Strong communicator and relationship builder, comfortable networking across diverse channels.
• Dynamic presenter passionate about sharing knowledge and engaging audiences.
• Proven ability to foster collaboration and maintain strong working relationships.
• Prior experience managing people is preferred

Responsibilities

• Continue working on projects as a Project Lead with targeted sales goals as discussed with Ownership.
• Participate in the interview process for new hires.
• Set strategy, schedule, and content for new hire onboarding and training.
• Lead efforts to identify and drive project process improvements, partnering with the Design Director to develop solutions and present recommendations to ownership.
• Lead Project Lead Meetings, setting cadence and content.
• Identify training opportunities at Haworth and other vendors, working with ownership to set the annual training budget and timelines.
• Provide strategic leadership for RFP development on small to mid-sized projects, guiding proposal strategy and execution.
• Serve as escalation point for personnel and project issues, involving ownership when needed.
• Conduct performance reviews of Project Leads alongside the VP of People.
• Direct strategic planning and budgeting for annual In-Market Events, providing executive oversight of implementation in partnership with the Brand + Communications Director.
• Work collaboratively with the leadership team to sustain high performance and ensure consistent communication and processes across the organization.
• Act as primary liaison for Haworth and vendor communications; streamlining internal collaboration and advocating for encompas’ priorities.
