Job summary

HDR is seeking an experienced Coastal & Navigable Waterways Practice Leader to guide federal feasibility studies and major maritime projects. You will bridge sponsors and USACE, manage staff and a program, and deliver complex studies balancing technical excellence with client expectations.

The role requires a strong background in coastal engineering, regulatory compliance, and project management, with an emphasis on leadership within HDR’s employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Coastal Engineering or related discipline required.
• Professional engineering license (PE or equivalent) required.
• 10+ years of design experience managing civil/site design projects.
• Experience with USACE permitting and environmental compliance.
• Ability to lead staff and manage complex maritime projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead coastal and navigable waterway studies and feasibility studies.
• Develop and manage staff and program to deliver maritime projects.
• Manage client relationships and coordinate with Area Business Development Leaders.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, timely project services and deliverables.
