Job summary

HDR is seeking an experienced Coastal & Navigable Waterways Practice Leader to guide federal feasibility studies and complex navigational projects, coordinating with ports, state agencies, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The role leads staff, drives technical excellence, and partners with Area teams to deliver safe, sustainable waterway solutions. Based in Milwaukee, WI, HDR offers a collaborative culture and impact-driven work.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Coastal Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional registration such as PE, PTOE, PTP, PMP preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 15+ years of coastal engineering and/or planning experience in consulting or related fields.
• Ability to bridge coastal engineering with federal regulations and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead companywide development and training of staff in coastal and navigable waterway design.
• Manage federal feasibility studies under WRDA and coordinate with USACE and sponsors.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and pursuit strategies.
• Ensure quality, consistency, and delivery of complex nautical and coastal projects.
