Job summary

SSA Marine is seeking a Marine Business Development Manager in Savannah, GA. This hybrid role involves managing customer relationships, developing rates, and overseeing contracts for our marine terminal services.

You will coordinate with the Commercial team, prepare quotes, and travel regionally and to Canada as needed. A strong background in sales, market rate knowledge, and CRM proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years in transportation and maritime with vessel stevedoring and marine terminal operations.
• Minimum of 3 years in sales, account management, and new business development.
• Proven track record of engaging presentations and impactful pitches.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Experience with CRM platforms preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain TWIC card and passport.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer relationships and expectations to ensure a professional relationship.
• Monitor assigned accounts and forecast; track pipeline and volumes.
• Input customer updates into CRM and coordinate on new volumes.
• Oversee quoting of rates for cargo and coordinate with SSA billing/invoicing.
• Develop and negotiate customer contracts based on market conditions and operations.
• Coordinate with credit to determine terms; travel domestically and to Canada as needed.
• Provide presentations and speeches about SSA Marine; support bids and RFPs.
• Collaborate with operations to develop rate structures and align with plans.
