Job summary

Relate Search is partnering with a marine technology company to recruit a Business Development Representative for Newport, RI. You will grow the dealer and distributor network and promote connected boat technologies and boat-sharing solutions to industry partners.

You’ll travel up to 50% to meet customers, attend boat shows, and demonstrate products, while collaborating with a global marine organization to drive growth and adoption of new features and platforms.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of sales or equivalent experience, including field sales.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage customers, prospects, distributors, and internal teams.
• A proactive, organized approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Ability to travel up to 50% and attend occasional evening or weekend events; a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent applicable experience. CRM experience and knowledge of boating or the marine industry are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive new business growth through outbound calls and relationship building with prospective and existing dealers and B2B accounts.
• Educate prospects and partners on connected boat technology and support the closing of boat-sharing operator opportunities.
• Build and maintain distributor relationships, providing product updates, demonstrations, and training on new features and platforms.
• Identify customer needs and sales opportunities while staying informed about competing products and services.
• Manage contacts and sales activity in the CRM and represent the company at boat shows, trade shows, and industry events.
