Arc is building electric propulsion platforms for commercial marine applications. We are seeking a Sales Application Engineer to own early stage architectures, costing, and proposals for new projects.

This on-site role in Los Angeles involves sizing tools, CAD layouts, and cross-functional collaboration to win bids. You will partner with business development, develop calculators for electrical loads and pricing, and own the final pricing roll-up and margins.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in marine industry as an application/design/proposal engineer or similar.
• Strong understanding of marine electrical architectures, diesel-electric and high-voltage DC systems.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and create system diagrams; CAD familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business development to draft concept solutions and architectures for new marine projects.
• Develop internal sizing and estimation tools for electrical loads, thermal limits, and pricing.
• Size and specify complex marine electrical equipment, including 1000V DC buses and energy storage systems.
• Create high-level CAD layouts to validate space claims for equipment within a vessel hull.
• Estimate costs and BOMs and own final pricing roll-up and margins.
• Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and technical writing to produce bids.
• Present architectures to clients, shipyards, and naval architects during bidding.
