Job summary

Serco is seeking an HM&E Systems Engineer to provide technical support to the U.S. Navy Surface Ship Fleet. The role focuses on lifecycle management, maintenance planning, and resolving high-visibility CASREPs and fleet priorities in coordination with Navy technical community and Serco SMEs.

The candidate must hold an active DoW Secret clearance, have relevant naval shipboard experience, and be proficient with Microsoft Office and NAVSEA tools. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Active DoW Secret security clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 2 years’ relevant Naval shipboard engineering work experience or High School Diploma with 4 years’ applicable Naval shipboard work experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of NAVSEA electronic business and technical systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare machinery and propulsion directives; review gas turbine propulsion and related equipment.
• Provide engineering, technical, and analytical support for HM&E systems on U.S. Navy surface ships.
• Analyze equipment failures and maintenance actions; develop technical findings and recommendations.
• Perform lifecycle engineering assessments and modernization considerations.
• Develop documentation, installation drawings, and advisory communications.
