Job summary

Arc is electrifying the marine industry and seeks a hands-on Mechanical Hardware Engineer at our Los Angeles headquarters. You will design, release, prototype, validate, and scale hardware for boats, including hull structures, interiors, and marine systems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You’ll own design decisions, travel to suppliers, and support manufacturing. The role requires a by-design practical engineer with strong communication and time-management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of industry experience (internships count).
• Proficiency in CAD and familiarity with PLM systems.
• Willingness to provide hands-on support with fabrication and assembly.
• Strong communication and ability to defend design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Designing and releasing hardware across the full boat, including composite structures and interiors.
• Owning hardware from specification through design, prototyping, validation, and manufacturing.
• Leading prototyping through on-water testing and root-cause analysis.
• Integrating with battery, powertrain, electrical, and controls teams on packaging.
• Partnering with industrial design, suppliers, and manufacturing on DFM.
