Job summary

Rolls-Royce's Marine Service organization in Alameda, CA seeks an Associate Marine Service Technician to help troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, test, and commission engines and propulsion systems aboard marine vessels.

This highly mobile field-service role offers extensive hands-on technical experience, with travel up to 70–100% on short notice, contributing to equipment reliability and customer readiness within Rolls‑Royce’s high-performance culture.

Qualifications

• Two years of mechanical trade school education or an Associate's degree in Engineering/Mechanical fields.
• At least two years of field-service experience with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• U.S. citizenship is required to support government contract activities.

Responsibilities

• Travel domestically and internationally on short notice up to 70–100% of the time to support service, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, commissioning, and operation of marine engines and propulsion systems.
• Analyze technical data, define field activity scope, and prepare tools and equipment for safe, on-schedule work.
• Inspect and test engines and propulsion systems, maintaining accurate service records.
• Provide technical assistance and training to customers and service personnel on MTU equipment.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, service, and quality teams to improve manuals and documentation.
