Job summary

Rolls-Royce Power Systems is seeking an entry-level Associate Service Technician to support service, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of mtu engines at customer sites across North America and internationally. This role offers extensive field exposure and hands-on opportunities to build expertise in marine propulsion and power systems.

The position requires a two-year mechanical trade school diploma or related Associate degree or equivalent field experience, and travel 70–100% of the time.

Qualifications

• Two-year mechanical trade school diploma or Associate's degree in Engineering, or two or more years of hands-on field service experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident and authorized to work without sponsorship.
• Strong knowledge of internal combustion engine operation and engine controls is preferred.
• Experience with mtu engines and electronics or comparable diesel power systems is preferred.
• Experience operating forklifts and rigging loads up to 1 ton is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the service, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of mtu engines, propulsion systems, and electronic controls.
• Analyze technical data, inspect parts for conformance to specification, instrument propulsion systems, and support engine commissioning and acceptance testing in the field.
• Travel domestically and internationally 70–100% of the time to customer sites across North America and beyond.
• Plan and prepare for each assignment, assess and scope work to ensure deadlines are met, and maintain logs and test data.
