Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a Motorola Solutions subsidiary, seeks a Business Development Engineer focused on US Marine Corps programs. You will bridge RF capabilities with customer requirements, supporting field tests, demonstrations, and RFI/RFP responses.

The role involves up to 50% travel and a remote work option depending on location. Strong collaboration with engineering and business development is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical or defense experience.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of Software‑Defined Radios (SDRs), IP‑based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
• All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Analyze USMC priorities (Force Design, EABO, MAGTF network goals) and map requirements to radio solutions.
• Plan networks, configure field trials, and conduct modernizations and user evaluations.
• Collaborate with Applications Engineering to leverage testing and benchmarking data.
• Coordinate with Business Development to align technical needs with priorities.
• Build and present demonstrations for expeditionary networks and edge deployments.
• Contribute technical input for RFI/RFP responses and end-to-end network architectures.
