Job summary

LAPP Florham Park, NJ is seeking a Process Engineer to design and optimize manufacturing processes. Under the engineering manager, you’ll implement systems and SOPs to improve efficiency, quality and safety across the value stream.

You will lead cross-functional projects, analyze data, conduct audits, and apply Lean Six Sigma methods to reduce cycle times and waste. Strong communication and project management are essential in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (wire and cable preferred).
• Proven process engineer with experience in manufacturing or production.
• Strong knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean and statistical analysis.
• Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards relevant to the industry.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Clear communication and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop efficient manufacturing processes and systems.
• Analyze processes, identify improvements, implement solutions for productivity, quality, safety.
• Collaborate with production, quality control, maintenance, supply chain.
• Conduct process audits, analyze data, generate performance reports.
• Apply Six Sigma, Lean, and process mapping to optimize variables and cycle times.
• Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, flow diagrams.
• Identify automation and technology to boost efficiency and reduce manual work.
• Work with equipment vendors to install and validate new technologies.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards; perform risk assessments.
• Train production staff on new processes and equipment.
• Monitor industry trends and best practices in process engineering.
• Participate in Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
