Job summary

Midland Garage Door is seeking a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to service and improve our production lines in a fast‑paced environment. You will troubleshoot automated equipment, diagnose faults, and fabricate parts as needed to minimize downtime.

This role requires reading electrical schematics, operating forklifts, and supporting cross‑functional teams. Starting wages are $36/hr DOE for day shift and $38/hr DOE for evening shift, with occasional overtime and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required; 2 years in manufacturing maintenance preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting automated production equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Willingness to work day or evening shifts with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair automated production equipment including PLCs and motion controls.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and controls faults using schematics and test equipment.
• Fabricate repair components to keep machines running.
• Operate forklift occasionally.
• Ensure safety protocols and quality standards are followed.

Manufacturing Maintenance Technician

Day Shift: 7:30am-4:00pm Monday-Friday
Starting Wage: $36/HR DOE
Evening Shift: 4:00pm-2:30am Monday-Thursday
Starting Wage: $38/HR DOE

Occasional overtime and weekend shifts.

We are looking for an experience Maintenance Technician to join our team.

In this position, you will perform maintenance work on existing manufacturing equipment, maintain and build new equipment and tools, and work with each department to ensure the highest quality product is produced.

Essential Duties:

1. Troubleshoot and repair automated production equipment — including Allen-Bradley PLC and Trio motion controls, pneumatic systems, roll forming lines, drives, and mechanical assemblies.
2. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and controls-level faults using schematics and test equipment; escalte to OEMs or controls integrators as needed.
3. Occasional forklift operation.
4. Fabricate necessary repair components as needed to get machines up and running in a timely fashion.
5. Work with other departments as necessary to ensure high quality and efficient production.
6. Follow all safety protocols.
7. Champion an overall culture of teamwork and cooperation between locations and departments.
8. Provide assistance in all areas with a can-do attitude.
9. Demonstrate and uphold Midland Values: Service, Quality, and Integrity.

Marginal Duties:

1. Assist in Production areas as requested.
2. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.

Competencies Required:

• Ability to create and maintain relationships
• Excellent communication skills

• Valid driver’s license
• Welding/cutting metal experience
• Solid mechanical aptitude with pneumatic and mechanical drive systems (chains, belts, bearings, gearboxes).
• Ability to read electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Practical, resourceful problem-solver who can fabricate a fix or fixture when a stock part isn't available.
• Prompt, reliable attendance and the ability to respond to off-hours equipment issues as needed.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing.

Education and Experience:

High School or GED required, and 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully to perform the essential responsibilities and duties as listed above.
