Job summary

Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG) is seeking a Manufacturing Layout Engineer in the United States. The role translates designs into shop-ready layouts, lists hollow metal door and frame details, and ensures accuracy for seamless shop floor execution.

You will input shop drawings, interpret hardware templates, assess manufacturing criteria, and program elevations to optimize machine use and part production.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with two years of additional computer training or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 1-2 years of related programming experience.
• Knowledge of software applications and related programming languages/procedures.

Responsibilities

• Enter detailed shop drawing information into the designated manufacturing software.
• Analyze elevations and material profiles to ensure compatibility with efficient manufacturing techniques.
• Evaluate manufacturing factors in relation to shop capabilities (bend deductions, shear sizes, jig selection, reinforcement needs, material gauge).
• Accurately program elevations to optimize machine utilization and tool selection.
