Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Frisco City, AL seeks a Learning and Development Leader for our lumber mill. You will develop SOPs, lead training, and drive improvements across processes, with a strong emphasis on safety and manufacturing excellence. You will oversee onboarding, PBM training, and engage leaders to raise performance and compliance.

The role reports to the Plant Manager with a dotted line to the HR Manager, contributing to a culture of Principle-Based Management and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to input data and operate software programs.

Responsibilities

• Create SOPs and training materials following GP writing standards using data gathering methods.
• Evaluate operational processes to determine technical requirements.
• Review and formalize documentation standards for procedures.
• Validate SOP accuracy by monitoring processes.
• Benchmark best practices with other Training Leaders.
• Lead training for current and future employees on new SOPs.
• Track metrics and monitor new process performance.
• Develop onboarding training processes and measure outcomes.
• Participate in New Hire Orientation as needed.
• Lead Employee engagement activities and PBM training.
