Job summary

The Masterson Company, Inc. in Milwaukee is seeking a seasoned Human Resources Manager to direct all HR functions, including policy development, labor relations, talent acquisition, benefits, payroll, and safety compliance.

This role leads union negotiations, oversees full cycle recruiting, administers benefits programs, and champions employee engagement, training, and safety initiatives across the manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in HR with at least 3 years in leadership.
• Experience with HRIS, preferably ADP Workforce Now.
• Union and non-union workforce experience preferred.
• Experience in training, full-cycle recruiting, and benefits administration.
• Manufacturing environment experience required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead the HR department and staff.
• Liaise with union and non-union staff; lead contract negotiations.
• Lead grievance process and ensure policy compliance.
• Enforce policies; conduct investigations and disciplinary actions.
• Oversee talent acquisition from job descriptions to onboarding.
• Manage benefits programs including health, 401(k), STD/LTD, life.
• Lead employee engagement initiatives and wellness programs.
• Co-lead safety programs; manage workers' comp and OSHA docs.
• Oversee training and development systems; Masterson University.
• Support retention; conduct exit interviews and coaching.
• Plan and coordinate company events.
• Oversee payroll administration backup.
• Maintain HR, Administration, Safety policies.
• Ensure safety, food safety, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws/regulations.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
