Job summary

Structural Concepts is seeking an HR Generalist to support our manufacturing plant in Norton Shores, MI. This role partners with plant leadership on employee relations, recruiting, compliance, and performance management, balancing strategic partnership with hands-on execution on a small HR team.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in HR or a related field, strong communication and project management skills, and an Associate’s degree in HR (Bachelor’s preferred).

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in HR or related field required.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related experience preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in a related HR or business role.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Fluent in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations questions and concerns at the plant.
• Support routine workplace investigations and escalate complex cases to the Director of Human Resources.
• Document employee relations matters accurately and maintain confidentiality.
• Partner with supervisors on progressive discipline delivery and documentation.
• Coordinate recruiting coordination tasks and onboarding paperwork with HRIS and payroll.
• Maintain requisition and candidate tracking and provide hiring updates to leadership.
• Administer leave, workers' compensation, and compliance tracking.
• Maintain confidential employee records and assist with HR policy rollouts.
• Support workforce planning and performance review administration.
• Take on other duties to support a small, cross-trained HR team.
