Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging in Itasca, IL seeks an Accounting Analyst to perform transactional and analytical accounting to support Operations Finance and manufacturing plants. You will work with SAP and Power BI to glean insights and ensure accuracy in closed books.

You’ll assist with month-end close, cost models, balance sheet reconciliations, and forecasts. The role requires 2–4 years manufacturing experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to communicate financial concepts to non-finance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2–4 years of experience analyzing financial results, variances, and KPIs in manufacturing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business recommendations
• Understanding of cost accounting including standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variances
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
• Familiarity with internal controls, account reconciliations, and financial compliance requirements
• Strong attention to detail with ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
• Ability to communicate financial concepts to both finance and non-finance audiences
• Must be an effective team player and interact well with others
• Strong systems aptitude with SAP ERP (R3) and/or SAP BW/BPC or JDE experience
• Strong Excel and Power BI (or Tableau) user for analyzing performance and providing insights

Responsibilities

• Provide financial analysis and performance insights to Operations, Plant Leadership, and Finance stakeholders
• Assist month-end close with journal entries and internal controls
• Support product costing activities including reviewing standard vs actual costs and cost models
• Assist in preparing balance sheet reconciliations
• Calculate freight accruals and resolve accounts payable issues
• Support development of forecasts and budgets
• Contribute to special projects as needed
