Amcor Rigid Packaging in Evansville, Indiana, is seeking an Accounting Analyst to perform both transactional and analytical accounting activities in support of Operations Finance and the plants.

The role collaborates with the Business Unit Controller and multiple facilities, requiring effective communication of financial concepts to both finance and non-finance audiences and a strong eye for detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 2-4 years of experience analyzing financial results, variances, and key performance indicators within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business recommendations.
• Understanding of cost accounting principles, including standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variances preferred.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with internal controls, account reconciliations, and financial compliance requirements.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Ability to communicate financial concepts to both finance and non-finance audiences.
• Must be an effective team player and grow within the organization.
• Experience with SAP ERP (R3) and/or SAP BW/BPC or JDE.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial analysis, performance insights, and decision support to Operations, Plant Leadership, and Finance stakeholders using SAP, Power BI, and reporting tools to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist plants and the Business Unit Controller with month-end close responsibilities including accurate preparation of journal entries and internal control requirements to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Support product costing activities including reviewing standard versus actual costs; annual cost models and maintenance of quoting rates.
• Assist in preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Perform analytical and transactional activities such as calculating and determining freight accruals and resolving accounts payable issues.
• Support Operations Finance with the development of forecasts/budgets.
• Other special projects as required.
