Job summary

General Mills seeks a Manufacturing & Engineering Associate (MEA) Intern for a 10-week summer program at a U.S. plant.

You will gain hands-on experience in processing, packaging, and broad manufacturing systems, with exposure to 24/7 operations. You will learn from Operators, Technicians and Mechanics, develop coaching and team-building skills, and explore capital project ownership and new system startups.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Engineering degree in: Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Food Process or Biological/Biosystems/Agricultural, or related degree
• Qualifications for MEA Milling roles: Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Milling Science, Food Science, or related degree
• Graduating in Winter 2027 or Spring 2028
• Strong academic record
• Strong interpersonal skills, high learning agility, analytical and decision-making skills
• Demonstrated people, technical, and process leadership skills, with a proactive approach to taking initiative and contributing to team success

Responsibilities

• Build your capability through exposure and ownership of processing, packaging and broad manufacturing systems
• Gain front line exposure to 24/7 production to leverage problem solving and learning agility while driving improvements and eliminating losses
• Learn from and lead Operators, Technicians and Mechanics to grow your coaching, team building and people-development skills set
• Manage programs to gain experience in capital project ownership, new system startups and / or initiative leadership
