Job summary

Owens Corning is offering a Manufacturing Engineering Fall Co‑op at various US manufacturing sites for approximately 16 weeks. You will be mentored by seasoned professionals and work on projects spanning safety leadership, process improvements, and productivity gains.

You will develop troubleshooting and data‑driven decision making, strengthen technical leadership, and communicate effectively within teams. Outstanding performance may lead to further internships or full‑time roles in Operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or relevant field.
• Previous relevant internships/co-ops in a manufacturing setting.
• Demonstrated leadership in professional, service, or social organizations.
• Willingness and flexibility to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing projects during the Fall co‑op term (~16 weeks) at Owens Corning plants.
• Tackle topics such as safety leadership, process and product improvement, and productivity gains.
• Apply troubleshooting and data‑based decision making to improve designs, materials, or processes.
• Develop leadership capabilities and communicate effectively with teams.
• Potentially transition to additional internship or full‑time opportunities in Operations Leadership Development Programs.

Manufacturing Engineering Fall Co-op Description

During the Fall term, you will be placed as a Manufacturing Engineering Fall Co-op at an Owens Corning manufacturing plant for approximately 16 weeks. You will be mentored by seasoned technical specialists and provided value added projects throughout this period. Projects will give you hands‑on experience with the technical issues that you’ll face in the production environment, and they will cover the following topics:

• Safety leadership
• Process and product improvement
• Productivity increases
• Waste elimination
• Total Productive Maintenance

In addition, you will develop the following skills necessary to be an effective manufacturing leader:

• Troubleshoot and problem solve designs, materials, or processes
• Leverage analytics & data‑based decision making
• Enhance leadership capabilities and lead teams
• Effectively communicate and elevate performance of self and others
• Strengthen technical expertise
• Understand customer‑driven focus

At the conclusion of the internship, participants may be offered an additional internship or full‑time employment in one of Owens Corning’s Operations Leadership Development Programs, following graduation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or relevant major and/or field

Location of Assignment

Participants are based at various manufacturing sites in the US.
