Job summary

Owens Corning in Toledo, OH is offering a Manufacturing Engineering Internship for Summer 2027. You will work at a factory for about 12 weeks, mentored by seasoned professionals, tackling hands-on projects across safety leadership, process and product improvement, productivity gains, and Total Productive Maintenance.

You’ll build leadership and technical skills, including data-based decision making and effective communication, with potential for a future internship or full-time role in OC’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or relevant major.
• Previous relevant internships/co-ops in a manufacturing setting.
• Demonstrated leadership in professional, service, or social organizations.
• Willingness and flexibility to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Work at a manufacturing plant for ~12 weeks during the Summer term.
• Mentored by seasoned technical specialists and given value-added projects.
• Projects cover safety leadership, process/product improvement, productivity increases, TPM.
• Develop leadership, communication, and data-based decision making skills.

Manufacturing EngineeringInternshipDescription:

During theSummerterm, you will be placed as a Manufacturing EngineeringInternshipat an Owens Corning manufacturing plant for approximately12weeks. You will be mentored by seasoned technical specialists and provided value added projects throughout this period. Projects will give you hands-on experience with the technical issues thatyou'llface in the production environment, and they will cover the following topics:

• Safety leadership
• Process and product improvement
• Productivity increases
• Total Productive Maintenance

In addition, you will develop the following skills necessary to be an effective manufacturing leader:

• Troubleshoot and problem solve designs, materials, or processes
• Leverage analytics & data-based decision making
• Enhance leadership capabilities and lead teams
• Effectively communicate and elevate performance of self and others
• Strengthen technicalexpertise
• Understand customer-driven focus

At the conclusion of the internship, participants may be offered anadditionalinternship or full-time employment in one of Owens Corning's Operations Leadership Development Programs, following graduation.

Participants are based at various manufacturing sites in the US.
