Job summary

Owens Corning invites energetic engineering students to join a Manufacturing Engineering Fall Co-op across our US-based plants. You will work under seasoned professionals, solving real production challenges, and delivering value through hands-on projects in safety, process improvement, productivity, and TPM.

Projects emphasize data-driven decision making and cross-functional teamwork. Successful interns may receive a subsequent internship or potential full-time opportunities within Owens

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Previous internship/co-op experience in a manufacturing setting
• Demonstrated leadership in professional, service, or social organizations
• Willingness and flexibility to relocate

Manufacturing Engineering Fall Co-op Description

During the Fall term, you will be placed as a Manufacturing Engineering Fall Co-op at an Owens Corning manufacturing plant for approximately 16 weeks. You will be mentored by seasoned technical specialists and provided value added projects throughout this period. Projects will give you hands-on experience with the technical issues that you'll face in the production environment, and they will cover the following topics:

• Safety leadership
• Process and product improvement
• Productivity increases
• Waste elimination
• Total Productive Maintenance

In addition, you will develop the following skills necessary to be an effective manufacturing leader:

• Troubleshoot and problem solve designs, materials, or processes
• Leverage analytics & data-based decision making
• Enhance leadership capabilities and lead teams
• Effectively communicate and elevate performance of self and others
• Strengthen technical expertise
• Understand customer-driven focus

At the conclusion of the internship, participants may be offered an additional internship or full-time employment in one of Owens Corning's Operations Leadership Development Programs, following graduation.

• Willingness and flexibility to relocate

Location of Assignment

Participants are based at various manufacturing sites in the US.
