Job summary

RealREPP in Pittsburgh is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, improve, and sustain loading technology systems and impact door production. You will work cross-functionally to optimize processes, reduce costs, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include creating assembly drawings and BOMs, supporting production lines, and leading Lean initiatives with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to ensure scalable, compliant manufacturing.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
• Manufacturing experience in metal fabrication/industrial equipment/door systems preferred.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).
• Experience with ERP software such as Oracle, JD Edwards, or SAP (Hörmann uses SAP).
• Analytical problem solver.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and meet goals on time.
• Experience with Creo 3D modeling is a plus.
• Lean methodology experience is a plus.
• Mechanical design experience is a plus.
• Effective communicator.
• Ability to work in a group environment.
• Ability to multitask to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Construct assembly drawings, costed BOMS, and standardized work instructions for new product introductions.
• Provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support to loading dock equipment and production lines.
• Create and maintain installation, service, and training documents with field services.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing, equipment, and assembly issues to minimize downtime.
• Develop equipment PM plans with maintenance personnel.
• Lead Engineering Change Requests as needed.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Analyze production data to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and increase productivity.
• Provide technical training and support to production personnel.
• Handle projects that may require resources outside the normal scope.
