Job summary

Sheridan Ohio is seeking a Manufacturing Associate for Finishing/Bindery. No bindery experience is required—we'll train you to run high-speed bindery equipment on a fast-paced production floor.

You will feed books into machines, pack books into cartons, move materials, inspect quality, and work with a team to meet daily goals. Safety-focused, with opportunities to grow.

Qualifications

• Experience operating machinery in any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.).
• High school Diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and work orders.
• Read and interpret documents such as work orders and safety rules.
• Basic math skills and ability to use measuring devices.
• Basic problem-solving skills and mechanical inclination.
• Reliable teamwork and pride in quality work.

Responsibilities

• Feed books/signatures into a high-speed bindery machine.
• Pack books into cartons and prepare for shipping.
• Move materials and books to and from the workstation safely.
• Perform hand operations as required.
• Work with a team to hit daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products for quality compliance.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean workspace.

What You'll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We're Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem,we'll train you.
We're looking for people who:

• Have experience operating machineryin any industry(manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It's a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
