Job summary

Sheridan is hiring a Manufacturing Associate for the Bindery on the 2nd shift. We’ll train you to operate high-speed bindery equipment and contribute to creating books and printed materials.

You’ll feed books into machines, pack products, inspect quality, and work with a team to meet daily goals in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment.

No bindery experience? No problem—training is provided, and you’ll learn on the job with room to grow.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate and learn machinery used in bindery production.
• Ability to read and comprehend work orders, safety rules, and instructions.
• Basic math skills including addition and subtraction and ability to use measuring tools.
• Willingness to learn and work with hands-on equipment on a fast-paced floor.
• Team-oriented with reliability and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Feed books/signatures into the bindery machine.
• Pack books into cartons and ensure correct labeling.
• Safely move materials and finished products between stations.
• Perform required hand operations and quality checks.
• Work with a team to hit daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products for quality and consistency.
• Follow safety procedures and keep workspace clean.

Manufacturing Associate – Bindery 2 nd Shift

What You’ll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you. We’re looking for people who:

• Have experience operating machineryin any industry(manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It’s a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 20 lbs occasionally
