Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver DSV and client training courses
  • Oversee safety and quality programs, procedures, work instructions, auditing, incident investigations, CAPA, continual improvement, and 5S
  • Monitor, measure, and report staff training and development plans and achievements
  • Facilitate shift training on safety, operations, quality, standards, and procedures
  • Facilitate safety training and awareness of regulatory requirements, including hazardous-material handling
  • Implement and deliver on-the-job training programs
  • Maintain training databases, files, certifications, ID badges, safety cards, forms, and orientation and safety packets
  • Ensure safety, quality, and training programs meet regulatory, DSV, client, ISO, and 5-Star requirements
  • Train and monitor equipment operators and maintain certification records
  • Work with management and operations to address business needs and investigate operational issues
  • Evaluate associate skill levels and arrange retraining
  • Ensure OSHA training, recordkeeping, reporting, and required programs are completed and maintained
  • Engage in Continuous Improvement/Lean projects, training, coaching, and mentoring through the Quality Improvement Team
  • Maintain an effective safety committee
  • Lead investigations of accidents and near misses, determine root causes, and identify preventive actions
  • Review and approve quality assurance SOPs, procedures, work instructions, checklists, and process controls
  • Support validations, calibrations, quality assurance projects, and release of in-process and finished products
  • Maintain accident statistics, analyze trends, and take remedial action
  • Implement emergency management procedures and conduct annual fire evacuation and severe weather drills
  • Report information to the General Manager and complete other assigned management duties

Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 years’ experience in training and/or warehousing
  • Knowledge of inventory management procedures and warehouse terminology and practices
  • Proficient computer knowledge and internet capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Positive and pleasant attitude and excellent people skills

  • Ability to work unsupervised and run the office at times without the Manager present
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills

  • Preferred: forklift certification and ability to drive a sit-down electric forklift
  • Preferred: undergraduate degree in business or related field
  • Preferred: experience developing training programs
  • Preferred: 5 years’ experience in training and/or warehousing
  • Ability to perform required physical demands, including regularly lifting or moving objects up to 10 pounds
