- Support site leadership and operating teams with day-to-day health, safety, and environmental activities
- Coach, teach, and train site personnel on safe operating behaviors
- Design, develop, and implement safety and risk-control programs
- Ensure compliance with DSV safety policies, procedures, statutory requirements, and site/client SOPs
- Establish HSE goals, action plans, KPIs, and reporting systems
- Ensure trained HSE resources and effective legal-compliance systems are in place
- Review and develop HSE policies and procedures in line with best practices
- Advise senior and operations managers on HSE policies and procedures
- Monitor and manage risk assessments
- Implement workplace safety audits and corrective actions
- Represent DSV with OSHA, EPA, DOT, DHS, and other regulatory agencies
- Audit facilities and personnel for safety and environmental deficiencies
- Handle workers’ compensation claims through closure
- Maintain accident statistics, analyze trends, investigate accidents and near-misses, and implement preventive actions
- Implement and monitor emergency management procedures, including annual fire evacuation and severe-weather drills
- Maintain OSHA recordkeeping, reporting, programs, and training
- Conduct safety training for new hires and ensure employees can identify workplace hazards
- Manage environmental compliance, improvement initiatives, sustainability integration, and USEPA reporting
- Communicate issues to site leadership and implement solutions to minimize risk
- Perform other duties assigned by the General Manager
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 years’ experience working in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment
- Prior experience in safety observations/inspections and developing and implementing compliance strategies and plans
- Knowledge of safety and health management systems and practices
- Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with RF scanners
- Knowledge of WMS functions
- English reading, writing, and verbal skills
- Business communication skills
- Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities, counting inventory, and related duties
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
- Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Preferred: Prior MHE certification or basic MHE operation knowledge
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 11–20 pounds; reach above shoulder, squat, or kneel
