Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Manager (Professional Services) to hire and lead a team of Big Data Engineers and Architects. You will participate in hands-on technical discussions with regional teams and customers, guiding them through their Databricks journey and helping them achieve strategic objectives using our platform.

You will drive IP development, reusable tooling, and assets for field services, while partnering with key business stakeholders to prioritise work and deliver high-impact data

Qualifications

• 12+ years of industry experience.
• 6+ years in a customer-facing role.
• 4+ years leading a technical team of Data Engineers/Architects.
• Extensive experience in Spark, Hadoop, Cassandra, etc.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Databricks ecosystem knowledge is a plus.
• Proven documentation and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements with high customer satisfaction.
• Excellent people skills to partner with stakeholders.
• Awareness of business issues and big data use cases across industries.
• Experience estimating effort and scope for services.

Responsibilities

• Hire great people and provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members.
• Participate in key technical and design discussions with technical leads as a hands-on manager.
• Lead development of IP, reusable tooling, and assets for field professional services teams and partners.
• Partner with key business stakeholders to prioritise work and create products for the data platform.
• Manage a team of technical data engineers to achieve customer, company, and team goals.
• Act as first escalation point for customers and coordinate with other teams for rapid resolution.
• Provide input to grow internal processes and customer success offerings.
• Build and leverage customer relationships throughout the sales and delivery process.
