Job summary

Position Details
The Opportunity

Washington State University is now accepting applications for a Manager of Parking & Transportation Services on our WSU Spokane campus. As the Manager, you will provide leadership and oversight for all customer service, administrative, parking, and transportation operations. In this role you will manage front‑line customer service, cash operations, permit sales, parking enforcement administration, transportation demand management support, and all financial and operational systems. You will also develop and implement policies, procedures, and process improvements; oversee budgeting and financial activities; coordinate campus‑wide transportation programs; and serve as the primary liaison to internal and external partners. You may supervise staff and hourly employees, ensure compliance with state of Washington Administrative Code (WAC), WSU policies, and audit standards, and lead customer‑focused service delivery for the Spokane campus.

Additional Information

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible. This is an on‑site/in‑person role located on the WSU campus in Spokane, WA.

Monthly Salary: $5,000.00 - $6,000.00 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to the functional managerial area which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Demonstrated customer service, public relations, and communication skills.
  • Extensive computer skills including Microsoft Office and data systems.
  • Experience in office purchasing, finance management, and budgeting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage difficult situations with diplomacy and good judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills and initiative.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Experience in operations management of a university parking and transportation system.
  • Experience interpreting and enforcing WAC and WSU policies.
  • Experience with POS systems, cashiering, or complex reconciliations.
  • Experience with Lean Management Principles.
  • Experience managing confrontational or stressful situations.
  • Experience populating and managing operations software with cyclical setup data.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
