  • Maintain budgetary applications and oversee business and finance functions within the unit.
  • Prepare and review unit budget processes for requests and fiscal year allocations across funding sources.

Position Details: The Opportunity: As the Administrative Manager for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), you will serve as the department’s primary liaison and play a critical role in supporting its overall success. You will manage the day-to-day operations and fiscal support functions for CEE while exercising independent judgment and decision-making authority. You will provide administrative oversight and support for personnel processes, including appointments, promotions, transfers, retirements, dismissals, separations, and leave-related matters, serving as the department's liaison with HRS to facilitate timely and compliant processing. You will also provide support and maintenance of all budgetary applications and oversee the operation of the business and finance functions within the unit. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, preparing and reviewing unit budget processes for requests and fiscal year allocations across all funding sources, including State, Revenue, Facilities and Administrative Returns, and Enrollment-based funding models.

Additional Information: This is a full (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime exempt. Monthly Salary: $4,508.70 - $6,763 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications
  • Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other relevant field AND four (4) years of progressively responsible management work experience.
  • Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting financial data and preparing financial reports, statements and/or fiscal projections.
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving that considers alternatives and provides flexibility.
  • Proficiency with computer software (Microsoft Office applications) and database applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting issues.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Workday and Business Objects Data Warehouse
  • Experience working with grants and contracts
  • Experience reviewing complex multi-account reports in accordance with federal guidelines and budget restrictions
  • Experience working in an institute of higher education
