Job summary

Solis Mammography in Plano, TX is seeking a Mammography Technologist to join our onsite radiology team on a PRN basis. You will support radiologists, perform high-quality mammography exams, and help educate patients about breast health.

The ideal candidate holds Texas MRT license, ARRT Mammography certification (or eligible), completes a two-year radiologic technology program, and keeps MQSA/FDA CEUs current; ultrasound or stereotactic biopsy experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Texas Medical Board license - MRT is required.
• ARRT Mammography certification or eligibility with documented clinical experience.
• Completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Continuing Education: MQSA/FDA - 15 CEU’s every 3 years, 200 documented case numbers every 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist Radiologist in intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies.
• Produce high-quality films for radiologist evaluation.
• Educate patients about the role of regular mammography in breast health.
• Maintain patient-first focus and deliver excellent customer service.
• Communicate effectively with doctors, patients, and staff.
• Perform quality control and documentation related to mammography.
• Assist in data compilation and statistical maintenance.

Work Hours:PRN/As Needed, 1-2 Saturdays per month required

Here is what you will need:

• Texas Medical Board License - MRT

• Current ARRT in Mammography certification or eligible to take advanced level exam with documentation of clinical experience.
• Completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic Technology
• Continuing Education: MQSA/FDA- 15 CEU’s every 3 years, 200-documented case numbers every 2 years.
• Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred.

A Day in the Life of a Mammography Technologist:

• Provide services and support for the following areas:
  • Prepares for and assists the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies.
  • Produce high-quality films for the radiologist to evaluate.
  • Effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health.
  • Maintain patient-first focus at all times and exhibit outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees.
  • Consistently practice excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique.
  • Complete appropriate documentation.
  • Perform quality control functions related to mammography.
  • Assist in the compilation and maintenance of statistical data.
  • Promote privacy and comfort for the patient.
