Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Centeris seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality mammography exams and deliver patient-centered care. The role emphasizes accurate imaging, patient comfort, and collaboration with a fast-paced care team.

The position is full-time with a Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm schedule, offering benefits and career growth within Wellstar's integrated health system in Georgia.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and protocol.
• Confirm patient identity using two identifiers.
• Explain exam using AIDET to reduce anxiety.
• Protect patient privacy and comfort; assist with transfers.
• Review images for quality and completeness; ensure first-time accuracy.
• Clarify unclear orders and assist in emergencies across imaging areas.
• Operate and calibrate mammography equipment; maintain dose optimization.
• Complete QC tests per ACR/MQSA requirements.
• Label, orient, and document images in PACS/RIS; daily charge capture.
• Keep mammography suite clean; apply shielding as needed.
• Provide pre- and post-exam instructions; train new staff as needed.
• Maintain timely documentation and professional communication.
