Roxbury Community College is seeking a Maker Space Program Lead to support daily Maker Space operations on campus. The student leader will combine hands-on technical support with peer leadership, workflow coordination, and project ownership under supervision.

Position Summary
The Maker Space Program Lead is an advanced student leadership position supporting the daily operation of the RCC Maker Space. Designed as an advancement opportunity for a returning or otherwise qualified student, the Lead combines hands‑on technical support with peer leadership, workflow coordination, workshop support, and greater ownership of assigned Maker Space projects. The student works under the supervision of Hillel Sims and helps model safe, professional, and effective use of Maker Space resources.

Supervision & Performance
The Maker Space Program Lead reports to Hillel Sims or another designated department supervisor. The Lead may provide peer guidance, help coordinate student-team tasks, support onboarding and training, and serve as a point of contact during assigned activities, but does not hold formal supervisory authority over RCC employees. The student must follow Maker Space safety procedures, RCC Student Employment policies, and department expectations. Performance concerns will be addressed through RCC's progressive intervention process.
Advancement
This Level III role recognizes demonstrated growth in technical proficiency, independent problem-solving, project ownership, workshop support, and peer leadership. The position may prepare the student for advanced STEM, technical, lab, fabrication, design, or project-based opportunities.
