Job summary

Evergreen Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator to assist in Shahala Middle School. The role involves supporting students under the teacher's guidance, delivering one-to-one and small-group instruction, and helping maintain a productive classroom aligned with IEP goals.

Candidates must meet state qualifications, demonstrate good communication, confidentiality, and a patient, flexible approach while supporting diverse learners in a busy school setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• One of: ETS ParaPro/PRAXIS, an Associate Degree, 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits, or completion of a Paraeducator Apprenticeship.
• Ability to meet state training requirements and pass site screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide special education services and supports to eligible students.
• Offer one-to-one and small-group instruction aligned with IEP goals.
• Assist in maintaining a conducive learning environment and collect progress data.
• Support behavior management and prepare instructional materials.
• Assist with life skills routines and student safety.
