Job summary

Yinghua Academy is seeking a Special Education paraprofessional to support teachers in instructional activities and daily routines. You will assist with small-group and one-on-one support, help implement IEP accommodations, and supervise students to maintain a safe learning environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers and staff to promote student independence and positive engagement within the school community.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 college credits required; a bachelor’s in education is preferred.
• Experience with children or students with special needs is preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, families, and students.
• Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Special Education teachers with instructional activities and routines.
• Provide small-group and one-on-one academic support to students.
• Reinforce concepts and strategies to support progress.
• Support IEP implementation, accommodations, and modifications as directed.
• Prepare instructional materials and organize the classroom.
• Supervise students during activities and transitions, promoting safety.
