Job summary

Evergreen Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator for 1:1 and small group support at Hollingsworth Academy. Under supervision of the Special Education Teacher and Principal, you will assist with supervision, behavior management, and instructional activities tailored to each student’s IEP.

Responsibilities include implementing instructional strategies, collecting data, and maintaining confidentiality in a dynamic learning environment.

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen (18) years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent; AND
• Must meet one or more of the following: 455+ on ETS ParaPro/PRAXIS, or an Associate degree or higher, or 72 quarter credits/48 semester credits, or completed Paraeducator Apprenticeship Program.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Special Education classroom teacher in supervising and working with students.
• Provide one-to-one and small group instruction to meet IEP goals.
• Monitor student behavior and maintain data related to academics and behavior.
• De-escalate crises and implement behavioral management strategies as outlined by the teacher.
• Attend trainings to stay current with special education practices.
• Maintain confidentiality and a respectful, safe learning environment.
