Job summary

Shahala Middle School in Vancouver, WA is hiring a Special Education Paraeducator to support elementary and secondary students with IEP goals. The role runs 6 hours per day (9:35 a.m. – 4:05 p.m.

with a 30-minute unpaid lunch) on a 190-day school year, with early-release days at 9:35 a.m. – 1:55 p.m. The successful candidate must meet state Paraeducator requirements and will work under a Special Education Instructor and Building Principal.

Qualifications

• Be 18+ years old with high school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet one of: ParaPro ETS score 455+, or an Associate Degree or higher, or 72 quarter credits, or Paraeducator Apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Provide special education services and supports to students as directed by teacher.
• Offer one-to-one and small-group instruction aligned to IEPs.
• Assess progress and collect data to monitor IEP goals.
• Administer and score tests; implement behavior management.
• Organize and prepare instructional materials and adapt to student needs.
