Job summary

StoryPoint Independence is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a full-time role with 8am-4pm shifts. You will perform general maintenance and repair duties across our buildings, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance work, indoors and outdoors.

You will collaborate with multiple departments, report issues, and maintain clean, safe work areas. Weekend and holiday shifts may be required, reflecting our resident-focused service approach and commitment to uptime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or technical-school credits with related maintenance experience.
• Proficient in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, and appliance repair.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Good problem solving and ability to work in varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operates various tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with team members.
• Identifies and reports broken equipment or unsafe conditions to supervision.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area and adheres to safety regulations.
• Performs preventative maintenance on machinery and building systems.
• Maintains a positive customer service attitude with staff and residents.
