Job summary

StoryPoint is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Valparaiso Senior Living community. The position is part-time, 8am–4pm, with potential for weekend/holiday coverage as needed.

You will perform general maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and painting, while ensuring safety and quality in a senior living environment. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent) and experience in apartment maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combo of education and experience.
• Proficient in apartment maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, and appliance repair; drywall and painting experience is essential.
• Ability to read safety rules and manuals; write routine reports and correspondences.
• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions and solve problems with standard procedures.
• You enjoy providing great service with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members.
• Identify and report broken equipment or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Keep work area and equipment clean and in safe condition per regulations.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and buildings as required.
• Maintain a positive customer service attitude with staff and residents.
