Job summary

Hyatt Centric Old Town Alexandria is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our hotel team. You will perform general repairs, HVAC maintenance, and preventative work across the property and in guest rooms, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for guests.

The role requires a proactive, reliable hospitality professional with basic HVAC, plumbing, drywall, PTAC, and electrical knowledge, plus the ability to lift heavy objects and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Strong English communication and ability to read and follow instructions.
• Willingness to learn and train for hospitality maintenance.
• Must be able to lift 50–100 lbs and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel.
• Troubleshoot issues and determine necessary repairs.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance.
• Respond to work orders and guest room service calls in a timely manner.
• Maintain the building exterior and overall property.
• Assist with housekeeping duties as needed.

What We’re Looking For

• Prior maintenance experience in a luxury hotel environment preferred, but we’re willing to train the right hospitality professional.
• Brand experience preferred.
• Familiarity with basic HVAC, plumbing, drywall, PTAC units, and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of fire protection and life safety systems is a plus.
• Strong English communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing 50–100 lbs.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
