Job summary

Courtyard Boston Marlborough is seeking a hands-on Hotel Maintenance Technician / Engineer to keep guest rooms, public areas, and building systems operating safely and efficiently. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and respond to service requests with professionalism.

You will join a dedicated engineering team, with career advancement through our in-house training and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel maintenance preferred.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC/PTAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems.
• Excellent English communication and guest service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections and preventive maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Troubleshoot HVAC/PTAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems.
• Respond to guest room maintenance requests promptly.
• Maintain and repair boilers, pumps, water systems, and related equipment.
• Document completed work and report issues to leadership.
• Follow safety procedures and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections and preventive maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Conduct preventive maintenance in guest rooms, including inspections of HVAC/PTAC units, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, doors, locks, furniture, and other room equipment.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest room maintenance requests and service calls.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance issues.
• Complete repairs and maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
• Perform routine repairs involving drywall, painting, doors, fixtures, furniture, plumbing, and other building components.
• Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC and PTAC systems.
• Assist with maintaining boilers, pumps, water systems, and other mechanical equipment as applicable to the property.
• Monitor and maintain hotel equipment and building systems to help ensure reliable operation.
• Assist with fire protection, life safety, emergency, and security systems as required.
• Perform routine inspections of public areas, back-of-house areas, guest rooms, and exterior areas.
• Help maintain the hotel's exterior, including grounds, entrances, walkways, and other property areas.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe engineering/work area.
• Document completed work, maintenance issues, and equipment conditions.
• Communicate maintenance concerns and major equipment issues to the Engineering/Maintenance leadership team.
• Assist with housekeeping and other hotel departments when maintenance-related support is needed.
• Follow all hotel safety procedures, OSHA requirements, manufacturer guidelines, and applicable building codes.
• Provide courteous and professional service to guests and fellow TEAM members.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hotel maintenance, building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in a branded or luxury hotel environment is a plus, but we are willing to train the right hospitality professional with a strong desire to learn and grow.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, PTAC units, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and general building maintenance.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and work-order systems preferred.
• Knowledge of fire protection and life safety systems is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a TEAM.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining hotel standards.
• Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and speak fluently.
• Professional, friendly, and guest-service-oriented attitude.
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
• Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests in a fast-paced hotel environment.
• Must be able to lift and move objects weighing 50–100 lbs.
• Ability to work from ladders and perform physical maintenance tasks as required.
• Schedule flexibility is required, including weekends and holidays.
• Must be available to respond to maintenance emergencies and operational needs as required.

Compensation

$24.00 per hour
