Courtyard San Diego Mission Valley/Hotel Circle is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician Supervisor to lead the hotel maintenance team and perform hands-on repairs. You will supervise, train, and develop staff while ensuring guest rooms, public areas, and building systems meet five-star standards.

Ideal candidates bring hospitality maintenance experience, strong HVAC and electrical skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple tasks with a guest-centric approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel or hospitality maintenance is required.
• Supervisory or team-lead experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and life-safety basics.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily maintenance activities for the hotel team.
• Prioritize work orders and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Perform hands-on repairs and supervise technicians as needed.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC issues and safety systems.
• Maintain guest rooms and public areas to luxury standards.
• Train and coach team members on procedures and standards.

About the Role

As Maintenance Technician Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing the hotel's day‑to‑day maintenance operations. You will supervise and support the maintenance team while also performing hands‑on maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance throughout the property.

You will help ensure that guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and building systems are maintained to the highest standards while providing guidance, training, and support to your fellow TEAM members.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Supervise, coordinate, and support the daily activities of the hotel maintenance team.
• Assign and prioritize work orders, service calls, and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Perform and oversee general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building‑related issues.
• Conduct and monitor daily preventative maintenance of guest rooms and hotel facilities.
• Inspect completed work to ensure repairs and maintenance meet hotel standards.
• Respond to guest room maintenance requests and service calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with maintaining HVAC systems, PTAC units, plumbing, drywall, electrical systems, and other property equipment.
• Monitor the condition of the building exterior, grounds, guest areas, and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Assist with fire protection, life safety, and other building safety systems.
• Train, coach, and develop maintenance team members on proper procedures and hotel standards.
• Help maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, inspections, and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Communicate maintenance needs and property concerns to management.
• Help coordinate with outside contractors and service providers as needed.
• Promote a safe work environment and ensure maintenance procedures are followed.
• Assist with housekeeping or other hotel departments as needed to support overall hotel operations.
• Serve as a hands‑on leader who is willing to work alongside the team when necessary.

What We're Looking For

• Previous hotel, hospitality, commercial, or building maintenance experience required.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Experience in a brand or luxury hotel environment is ideal, but we are willing to train the right hospitality professional who is ready to grow their career.
• Strong knowledge of basic HVAC, plumbing, drywall, PTAC units, and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of fire protection and life safety systems is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests and effectively delegate work.
• Excellent English communication skills; able to read, write, and speak fluently.
• Ability to work independently while also leading and supporting a TEAM.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Professional, positive, and guest‑focused attitude.
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing 50–100 lbs.
• Schedule flexibility, including weekends and holidays.
