UniFirst seeks a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team in a hands-on role managing repairs, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment. The position emphasizes safe operation, standard weekday hours with occasional overtime, and on-the-job training.

You will work with boilers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and use CMMS for work orders. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 6 months of relevant repair experience, and ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Two-year technical degree preferred.
Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
Experience with maintenance equipment and reading blueprints/schematics.
Must pass maintenance knowledge assessment test.
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

Operate and troubleshoot industrial equipment and systems using hand/power tools and testing devices.
Ensure safe operation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals and specifications.
Record and analyze equipment readings and perform corrective actions.
Conduct boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing and adjust as needed.
Perform routine safety checks on boilers and other equipment.
