Job summary

UniFirst seeks a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires basic reading of blueprints, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to lift up to 80 lbs. On-the-job training is provided, with overtime possible on evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics is required.
• Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English is required.
• Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills are required.
• Lockout / Tagout experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, operation manuals, and engineering specifications.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision instruments.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing and adjustments.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and address repairs.
• Record and analyze utility meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Inspect and maintain motor, belts, fluids, and lubrication.
• Operate a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
