Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join its team in a hands-on role focused on repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment. The position uses a CMMS for record-keeping and requires reading blueprints and performing safety checks.

We offer on-the-job training, a Monday–Friday week with periodic night and weekend overtime, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Two-year technical degree preferred.
Must pass UniFirst maintenance knowledge assessment.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics is required.
Basic computer skills and MS Office are required.
Lockout/Tagout experience is required.

Responsibilities

Operate hand/power tools and measurement devices to repair equipment.
Ensure safe operation of machinery and related systems.
Follow blueprints and manuals per instructions.
Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision instruments.
Test boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment processes and adjust as needed.
Conduct daily/weekly safety checks and perform repairs.
Record utility meter readings and take corrective actions as needed.
Inspect and lubricate shafts, bearings, and gears per procedures.
Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for records.
